This treatment is a non-invasive, non-surgical, drug-free alternative to back surgery for sciatica, disc degeneration, general low back pain, disc bulges, herniations, and facet syndrome. While still considered a newer approach, case studies are being published every day which demonstrate the extremely positive results in patients who have already tried other conventional treatments. In simple terms, non-surgical decompression is achieved through the use of a mechanical traction device, which controls the force and angle of disc distraction. In other words, it reduces the body’s natural ability to guard the injured area, which would otherwise interfere with proper treatment through painful muscle spasms. In essence, spinal decompression increases the space between the vertebrae, thereby allowing bulged or decompressed discs to retract, so that valuable nutrients and water can return to the disc.
